Recognition

Bluffton is proud of its Award Winning Finance Department. The department has been receiving Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awards since Fiscal Year ending 2008 for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Since Fiscal Year ending 2012 they have also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Consolidated Municipal Budget and the Award of Outstanding Achievement for the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association.

The Government Finance Officers Association, founded in 1906, represents 18,000 public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. These awards are the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and their attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
